While I swear by turmeric in my DIY methods to fight acne breakouts must really admit swearing by turmeric in positively effectuating my weight loss journey apart from always being in my arsenal of home remedies.
This turmeric tea was one of the most beautiful elements of my fat loss. I continued to see a steady drop in the unwanted weight, even towards the 2nd month, while most of us assume that the drop isn’t going to be much significant once you lose those 5-6 kilos of water weight!

Quick & tasty turmeric tea recipe for fat loss, immunity & cough
An easy recipe to make some refreshing Turmeric Tea, ideal for boosting your metabolism & aiding fat-loss, Also a great home remedy for cold and cough. The perfect combination of turmeric & black pepper helps in the better absorption of Curcumin by the body.This turmeric tea when coupled with a good fitness routine and diet is impressive.
Ingredients
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- ¾ inch Ginger
- 7 Peppercorns
- 2 Cloves
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1.5 tbsp Jaggery
- 5 Tulsi leaves
Instructions

Except for Jaggery & Turmeric powder, coarsely grind all the ingredients in a mortar & pestle.

In a vessel, add 2 cups of water & start heating.

Add the ground powder & let it boil for a few minutes.

Add the jaggery.

Add the turmeric powder & stir well. Let the tea boil for another minute.

Strain and serve hot.
What you also need to know about drinking Turmeric Tea
- TURMERIC TEA is a ‘value-added’ regime to your weight-loss. NOT the ONLY way. So, remember to shake those kilos with some exercise & clean eating every day.
- Avoid having turmeric tea for more than 3 or 4 days in a week as it may lead to mild acidity or dehydration to those already susceptible to it, or those who drink less than 2 litres of water a day.

I would like to have some more information about which other drink for weight loss can I alternate along with turmeric tea since you have advised not to exceed more than 3-4 days a week with drinking this tea.

I make another version of this turmeric tea for daily consumption. I love the aroma of the turmeric tea. Wil try this recipe sometime.
I have been making this from fresh raw haldi every winters and use the normal powdered haldi in summers – its been 3 years since I have been having this. Not sure about the weight loss as I havent noticed any, it sure has helped in immunity and eliminating my nasty winter bouts of sinus episidoes, etc. I cannot do with out this and have this daily – it feels really good to have this and I recommend it to everyone to have atleast in winters.

Btw which turmeric do you use? The usual turmeric powder that we buy from store is said to have very less percentage of curmurin. I have got dried turmeric as well but it is such a hassle to powder it.
